Ikigai is a Japanese concept that translates to "a reason for being" or "a reason to wake up in the morning." It's a holistic approach to finding fulfillment in life by identifying the intersection of four elements:

1.     What you love (your passion): This refers to activities and pursuits that you genuinely enjoy and that bring you joy and fulfillment.

2.     What you are good at (your vocation): This refers to your skills, talents, and strengths. It's about identifying what you excel at and what comes naturally to you.

3.     What the world needs (your mission): This refers to the needs of the world or the community around you. It's about finding ways to contribute to something larger than yourself, to make a positive impact on others.

4.     What you can be paid for (your profession): This refers to finding a way to monetize your skills and passions. It's about identifying how you can sustain yourself financially while pursuing your passions and contributing to the world.

The essence of Ikigai lies in finding the balance and harmony between these four elements. When you find the intersection of what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for, you find your Ikigai—the reason that gives your life meaning and purpose.
